Bits and Pieces

I'm coming up blank with a blog post today, so I'm back with a few more bits and pieces of random information about me. Based on previous comments, people seem to like finding out more about the real, live Carrie behind the blog, so I'm going with it. Hope you're having a great week so far and thanks for stopping by!

The words "sweet dance moves" and "Carrie" aren't usually heard together. In fact, if you've seen the dance lesson in Hitch, then you've pretty much seen me. "You cannot stop it..."

It's an unwritten requirement that You've Got Mail, Sabrina, and Pride and Prejudice must be watched once a year - at least.

I like quoting movie lines - usually funny ones.

When we got married (almost 11 years ago - how did that happen??) my idea of pushing the pizza limits was adding sausage. Now I'm a sucker for the Papa Murphy's Chicago Stuffed Pizza (and pretty much any other Papa Murphy's pizza, except BBQ) - yum.

I've read The Source three times - once for a college assignment, twice for fun.

When I was 12 years old I went to Israel for two weeks with my parents. Although I didn't appreciate it at the time as much as I could have, as I have gotten older I have recalled many things I learned on that trip and it certainly made the Bible come alive for me. The places were real places - not just names I couldn't pronounce. It was a once-in-a-lifetime trip for me, and I'm thankful they made it happen.

The first "real" book I ever read: Little House in the Big Woods. I was finishing Kindergarten and usually wore a bonnet while reading. I really liked to experience life as the characters (i.e. I was an odd child).

We drove to Alaska back in 2008 and then took a car ferry home after two months of working up there. It was all an experience and lots and lots of fun. If you ever get a chance to drive the Al-Can Highway, watch out for moose - they don't play nicely with cars.

Okay, last one. Daisies are my favorite flower - hands down.

  2. I love the thought of you in a bonnet, reading the "Little House" books! Adorable.

Fun fact: When I was in third grade, some girls (and maybe a boy or two) put on a "Little House on the Prairie" play. I really wanted to be in it, so I said I'd play any part, so I got assigned the part of Jack the dog. I was the best Jack ever. :)
