This week the theme on You Capture over @I Should Be Folding Laundry is "Autumn" - but with a twist. Beth stressed she wanted us to be creative - to think outside the normal "autumn" box. For me, that means no pumpkins (which just epitimize "autumn" in my mind), no fall decorations, none of the usual suspects, um, I mean, subjects. So here is my "creative" take on autumn and I'm really looking forward to seeing what others did!
OK, OK, but it's a non-traditional pumpkin! But I know it's autumn when Bath and Body Works gets their Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin Handsoap in stock!
Same here - the bath scrunchie was a gift from hubby three years ago before we went to Indonesia - he knew I would need some pumpkins to help it feel like fall. Sweet guy! Bath and Body Works doesn't sell this shower gel anymore (Boooo!), but I stocked up the last time they had a big sale and had pulled some of these out. Again, it's something else that makes it "autumn" to me.
Blankets and sunlight = cozy autumn days
...throw a book into the mix (especially one with fall leaves on the cover) and we're all set!
I didn't plant any mums this year, but this stubborn little guy came back all on his own. It reminds me of what my mom always used to tell us as kids, "Bloom Where You Are Planted"...I'm still trying.
And finally, yes, I know, this is so "inside the box" autumn, but I just loved the color and it was a total surprise. I was getting out of the car at our current electrical job, and this stopped me in my tracks. It was the only one that color among all these brown leave and I had to take a picture.
Great shots this week! I can't believe I didn't get a preveiw!
ReplyDeleteLove you!
These are GREAT and very creative indeed! Mine were all INSIDE the box. I couldn't come up with anything outside the box :D
ReplyDeleteI love the leaf! I have that tree in my front yard, and I specifically picked it for the colors. The Autumn Blaze Maple, and I love it so much that I told my husband that when we move, I want to take it with us!
ReplyDeletenice job. :) I'm particularly fond of the blankets and sunlight - I can just feeeeel how cozy those are!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that book! I'm a collecter of old books.
ReplyDeleteI love the blankets picture. I also just started using some sweet cinnamon pumpkin soap today!

ReplyDeleteI didn't really think outside the box. Oops!
ReplyDeleteLove your shots ~ especially the sweater. That's one of my favorite thingas about Autumn. :)
Ooooh I love old books! That one has a lovely cover. Blankets and a book, yep, that pretty much sums it up for me too!
ReplyDeleteI have that first bath and body handsoap, love it! And it definitely makes me feel all fall-y. Also love your "about me"-- where you say your home is full of good coffee, fine cheese, and books. Sounds like I could make myself at home quite easily.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE sweet cinnamon pumpkin!! I stock up and then use sparingly so I don't run out! Great shots and awesome job being creative!
ReplyDeleteMmmmm I heart bath and body works fall line. Yum!
ReplyDeleteVery outside of the box. Mine was more like "inside" but that is ok. :)
Love your series!
I love your photo of the leaf and the sweaters. Nothing says fall like warm fuzzy sweaters.
ReplyDeleteLove the sweaters and the leaf. Great shot. As you noticed, I wasn't up the task this week. Hopefully I'll be back on the bandwagon next week though :)
ReplyDeleteLove your creative way to capture fall :0) your first picture is my fav
ReplyDeleteI'd never tried the B&BW Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin and I'm kind of glad I didn't if they don't make it anymore. Something tells me it would have been a favorite.
ReplyDeleteI love the blanket shot, it really makes me feel autumnly!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos. I bet that bath and body works smells divine. I may have to make a trip to pick some up.
ReplyDeleteLove the leaf photo, even if it is "inside the box"!
