The subject this time was "Mornings". Honestly, I wasn't sure what we do in the mornings that would be photo-worthy. And while I didn't end up with any wow shots, I assure you that they are a true picture of what mornings look like at our house. My favorite photograph this week: the coffee cup. For more morning fun, work your way through the You Capture links @I Should Be Folding Laundry.
We eat a lot of eggs for breakfast - inexpensive protein
Of course, you can't eat eggs without bacon (in our case, turkey bacon) and a cup (or two or three) of coffee (lovely Dunkin' Donuts - the REAL stuff)
Some mornings we have blueberry pancakes made with soy flour and flax seed meal (healthy and South Beach Diet friendly)
But no matter what we eat, there is always coffee (it just, sadly, has to be decaf - or unleaded as we call it - because of the South Beach rules). Coffee goes to work with hubby in a thermos...or two. :-)
And I get to enjoy my coffee at home - a swirling bit of yummy goodness to start the day and hopefully help with my productivity!
Thanks for stopping by and for all your kind comments last week. I'm really new at the whole "looking at the world through the lens of a camera", but I've found it to be fun and, surprisingly, relaxing. Have a great week!
Love the last one. I've switched to decaf too...because quite frankly regular just makes me feel sick all day. I don't get jittery but my stomach is just all blah...and I don't really have time for that. I drink a lot of tea now instead. But I love the taste of coffee with cream and sugar and a bit of caramel syrup...soooo yum :)
ReplyDeleteOh yum. Now you've made me hungry for breakfast. Eggs have totally been grossing me out this pregnancy, but your shots actually make them look palatable! Great captures!
ReplyDeleteThese are great! Especially like that last shot of your coffee cup. Makes me want to dive in. :)
ReplyDeleteNow I'm hungry. I LOVE the coffee shot. Here is my morning shot.
ReplyDeleteI love the last photo. And I love all the eggs! They look tasty!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by to peek at my pics.
ReplyDeleteYour first picture is my favorite because it made me smile immediately. I didn't see a pan of eggs first, I saw a many-eyed monster with a bright blue smile! (I am a Faces In Places fan.)
The next to last picture is my second favorite. It looks very retro.
Great captures, definitely makes me want some breakfast now! :)
ReplyDeleteYour egg shot is wonderful, and all of your breakfast foods look so delicious! I'm with you on the constant presence of coffee in the morning - I'm sipping my second cup while we speak :)
ReplyDeleteUh - YUM!!!! This post is making me hungry! Love your shots :D
ReplyDeleteGreat captures! I love how something so everyday can be beautiful from another perspective.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a breakfast person, but that food looks so good!
ReplyDeleteYou made me hungry. Great pictures. I loved the eggs.
ReplyDeletenice angle on the eggs, pretty cool. I like your coffee shot too, it's almost like it's smiling at you :)
ReplyDeleteyou cook - really - you cook in the am - my husband would ADORE YOU!!!
ReplyDelete@Tiaras - I must be honest here...your husband would adore MY HUSBAND. He's the one that cooks each and every morning and I ADORE him! We came to an agreement a while back that if he would cook (which he likes to do), I will clean up and do the food prep (chopping mostly), which I don't mind doing (don't love, but like better than cooking). It works for us. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos - coffee is ALWAYS a part of my morning!
ReplyDeleteI love your eggs in the fry pan! They look so yummy! I also really like your last shot of the coffee cup. My coffee is decaf too. I've been doing it for a while now - my body is all good about getting faked out - I don't even notice the difference anymore. LOL!
ReplyDeleteYay for South Beach! I've been doing it (although a little more 'lax' about it now) since mid-may and I love it!
ReplyDeleteI do like that last shot of your coffee...
That last coffee shot is great you should frame it!
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm...coffee. 2 or 3 is a requirement, I think. :)
ReplyDeleteYour breakfasts look delicious. Yum!
Your captures make me hungry for eggs and coffee. I love how your last photo captures the creaminess of the coffee.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your morning with me. I smiled when I saw your mug. I recently went to Seoul (Korea) and often went into Dunkin Donuts to buy coffee and the local sticky rice cake!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit. Have a good day. xxx
That is an awesome picture of the eggs cooking!! and I love the swirl in the coffee cup!! Great shots!
ReplyDeleteThe "swirling bit of yummy goodness" is my favorite too.
ReplyDeletep.s. I'm your newest "follower" not quite sure what took me so long... I've been "following" you for awhile now. Have you seen me over your shoulder?? ;)
These are great pictures. I especially love the one of the eggs--all those sunny sides up looks like a bunch of smiley faces!
ReplyDeleteGreat egg photo!
ReplyDeletelove the eggs shot!
ReplyDeleteI really like your first shot of the eggs, but I also love the last photo of the coffee. Just a great (and different) angle on both.
ReplyDeleteAs a huge dunkin donuts fan, that's my favorite shot. The Pancakes also look delicious!
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm looks amazing! Love the Dunkin Donuts mug. Somehow we find ourselves in that place every weekend!
